I've been keeping myself busy while Peter is away. Everyone tells me to take it easy and let the chores go, but if I don't do things, the kids start misbehaving because mama is resting and then mama starts missing daddy and I get all sad. So I rest when I can in little spurts, but I'm charging ahead with little projects. My sister, Celia, is keeping me company this week and we have been having a great time puttering around. Celia has finished a lot of hard projects snd moving things around that I'm not able to do.
Celia is a budding boutician and artfully prettied up my toes and fingers.
We've blended up homemade smoothies...so refreshing!
The girls enjoy looking over the garden for fresh strawberries every day.
Fresh chives in abundance from the garden...
Celia is also an artsy gal at the grill. These chive- cheddar bacon burgers were awesome!
Potato soup with bacon (Celia and I share an obsession here).
Silly toddlers who refuse to eat crust =croutons! I love me some loaded salad.
An abundance of lemon thyme! It took a few tries to figure how to properly dry it. We picked off the leaves and air dried them on top of the stove. This preserves the flavor the best.
I used some for the first time in my chicken-a-la-king last night. I loved the subtle lemon flavor.
Celia patiently put Dainty's princess bed together. Dainty is sleeping on it right now. She was so offended when I tucked her and told her that she must stay there, but once she calmed down, she fell right to sleep!
Celia and I are having an Anne of Green Gables marathon on my VHS this week, it's definitely something we look forward to a the end of each day!
I have my yucky glucose test today, but I'm excited to see how baby is growing! 25 weeks! Baby is as big as a banana split, yum!
