Happy Tridium! Hubby wanted us to wear spy sunglasses at dinner for Spy Wednesday, but unfortunately (?) we forgot. Last night, for Holy Thursday, we had our own Passover/Last Supper meal. The lamb and haroseth was delicious, but the girls drank way too much grape juice and are on major detox today...oh my.
Sunny enjoyed the matzoh with haroseth.
Peter washed our feet to follow Jesus' example of love.
It is hard (nearly impossible) to get to the Holy Week services with two toddlers, so we try our best to make it a great learning experience at home. Today, Holy Friday, we listened to the daily readings over breakfast, listened to The Passion of Jesus over lunch, and we prayed the Crucifixion decade of the rosary in the afternoon. We have our large crucifix displayed at the dinner table for the girls to see (we even got to kiss Jesus' boo-boos). Our crucifix is clothed in purple to represent our respect and Jesus' suffering. Peter and I will watch The Passion movie tonight. Tomorrow is Holy Saturday and we will uncover the crucifix and then decorate the house and do our baking for Sunday. We will refrain from our alleluias until Sunday morning. Easter Sunday we will go to Mass, sing our hearts out, hand out our Easter baskets, enjoy brunch with friends, and then join my parents and siblings for a delicious feast and egg hunt. My sister, Audrey, will be our guest Easter Week and we will enjoy continued feasting and merriment! It's all so exciting!
What is your family doing to celebrate Easter Sunday?
