Speaking of Dainty, she has been super cute lately. Besides her determined, "No!" When confronted with a distasteful situation, she has been quite the charmer. She sings "Let it Go" from Frozen while twirling in circles. Enjoyes snuggles with anyone, even random grammas at church ( though church is a whole adventure itself, as she screams bloody murder as soon as we sit in a pew). Dainty LOVES playing with her big sister and doesn't mind being constantly dubbed the roles as the evil queen or Prince Charming, but she can push her little weight when big sister doesn't play her way. I often have to pry my two damsels off each other during heated wrestling matches. The past two weeks she has shown interest in America Sign Language, so I've been teaching her a new sign every few days. She has a sense of humor to boot; I will ask her to sign "cheese" or "cracker" and she laughs at me and signs "candy".
Sunny has been obsessed with imagination play. It's totally ok with me and I enjoy listening to her babble some conversation to pretend persons or play along as I become the mother or villain of whatever character she happens to be at the time. Frozen has been her favorite game of late. My couches are her ice castle and she piles pillows to become her snowman and ice bridge. Strange enough, she is always Anna, and Dainty is Elsa... I'm always Hans... Yeah, not sure what to make of that one. Daddy is always the prince that kisses her. Typical. Sunny still loves wearing a "princess" dress every day with her crown. Sunny flattered our waitress at IHOP the other day when she loudly declared that she was a princess because she was wearing a "crown" just like hers. We always get questions as to our little diva's outfits in public and it has become habit to answer that she is our "resident princess."
Belly baby is doing well. Getting big, kicking more frequently, and causing me to crave the most unhealthy meals at times. I've gained 10 pounds already, and it's all belly. In spite having a bigger belly girth than usual, I'm quite comfortable with myself. No nausea, clear mind, and totally manageable.
I'm slower at moving around and my energy burns out fast, but I'm totally stress free after hiring a maid to do deep cleaning. Now it's just maintenance and daily chores to deal with. Our house went on the market Monday, and by the end of the day we had one offer, and by the end of the week we've had two! There have been many more requests for showings, but as we are all sick, we have to insist people wait until the open house tomorrow. That will give us a chance to bomb the house with disinfectant and purge the litter of tissues scattered around by our two toddlers who insist on blowing their own nose, but refuse to throw them in the garbage. I'm stoked about the groundskeepers cleaning up the lawn yesterday, now even the outside looks perfect for showings!
Hubby has been so busy with his new job traveling plus completing house projects and taking care of us when we are drowning in boogers. As I mentioned, he was called to NY twice, almost had to go to Montana next week, has a meeting in St. Louis in a few weeks, then NY again, then Germany, Nova Scotia, and I'm totally muddled after that. Hubby is taking me to Germany with a hopeful stopover to London! These don't include his daily business trips to states all over NE. I love how he has a home office now. He is always home for dinner, we always have breakfast together, and then there's special family lunches if he's home during the day. I actually see him more now than his previous job! We have figured how to do quick packing for all of us to join him on overnights, the girls are used to it I think... Just occasional waking up confusion... I admit, even I walk into walls at night after forgetting where I am, haha!
Well, that's enough for now, lots to do! My headache is better so I should try to get some laundry done.
-Michelle.
