It was awesome getting away for 5 whole days with hubby in a tropical paradise! We were so busy that we didn't take many photos, but we do have plenty of memories and I have a slight tan to show off. One whole day I spent having a stomach bug, but it was awesome being sick and being able to watch TV and stay in bed ALL DAY. I feel so refreshed now. Before we left, I was sure my relationship with Sunny was going to be constant mother-daughter squabbling, but Sunny has been an angel since we've been home! I think a little space from each other has rekindled our mama-baby love and she is my best buddy once again.
I was hoping that the time away would be perfect for weaning Dainty, but our Skype sessions were painful (physically) as she cried for nursing and she is still begging to nurse even today. I'm trying to get her to be OK with snuggling with mommy, a teddy, and a bottle instead of nursing. It's tough, but it's the choice we made so I'm going to stick to it. I love my baby luvins!
I've been doing double the homeschooling load for Sunny this week so we don't fall off our schedule too much. I'm two weeks behind, but my little Sunshine loves her homework and is moving along gracefully. We've been catching up on crafts and having fun with finger painting! I'm glad to have her back on a schedule since the past few weeks she had been watching more movies than I liked.
Dainty is one year old! I can hardly believe it, but I'm glad that it's gone... It's been one tough year. She is such a doll and so sweet. She also has a budding sense of humor. She spent most of the morning pointing and begging for her birthday cupcakes up on the counter, this is a girl who knows what she wants! She goes about her days doing what I will call "teddy hopping" ... she just snuggles teddy bears all day long haha!
Well, it's lunchtime for the kiddos!
