What we are reading this week

Hello!
I know it's been a while since I've shared what we are reading,
but it goes to show you how busy we are.
We actually only got back into reading a few weeks ago.

1) Mattimeo by Brian Jacques

Hubby has nothing but good things to say about this
quaint book from the series Redwall.
I can't remember the last time he flew through so many books!
It's full of adventure and Peter says the descriptions are phenomenal
~he read to me a banquet scene and we were both drooling!~

2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

This is one of my favorites! I fly through this series.
Each chapter has me anxious to find out what's going to happen next;
and this is my 3rd time reading them!
I am currently watching the movie and then reading the corresponding book
to spot the differences. I know this series has caused plenty of
moral discussions within Catholic households, so I will only recommend
it to mature teens who can handle violence and know that flying on a
broomstick is pure fantasy (I have seen youngsters actually playing
"Harry Potter" in my back yard thinking they can have
wand battles and turn invisible...). I actually classify this series
between Narnia and Lord of the Rings.

3) Personal Penguin by Sandra Boynton
Sandra Boynton is wonderful! Her little books are cute, charming, and funny.
We all love reading these.
This one was written as a tribute to Davy Jones who sang "Personal Penguin"
~which is actually a top tune fav on our children's Pandora playlist!~
Peter downloaded the song as recommended on the cover of the book
so we can sing the song as we flip the pages.
I love her drawings!

What are you reading right now?
~Michelle
