A Quick Monday Update

Life.
Yep.
That's it.
That's all I've got.

Managing it has been hectic,
which is why I haven't been blogging as much lately.
(Sorry, priorities, priorities!)

I don't have too much time for you today,
but let me just jot down a few highlights that are going
on in with us.

1) Potty training~ Sunny is doing well!
Not sure why she had two accidents before 10am this morning,
but she made up for it after that. Lots of motivation, jelly beans, and
princess tattoos going on around here.

2) YARD SALES
love love love
Peter says it is my 6th Love Language
and has thus been going out of his way to stop at them
for me!
Best finds so far:
Kiddie pool $3
Wireless Printer with COLOR $5 ~ I am now happy to
have an excuse to venture into the hairy-scary basement to pick up my prints!
$2~ pink recorder and mini mega-blocks set for Sunny's b-day
$2 two lovely picture frames that will feed my desire to
deck my walls with baubles and folly *falalalala....

3) Homeschooling
I'm all over this one! I'm anxiously waiting to hear
from my resources about curriculum and a co-op
so I can delve into the wonderful world of learning.
PreK3 here we come!

4) Butterflies.
What little girl wouldn't want their bedroom covered
with glitter and butterflies?!
Well, wiether my girls like it or not...
their room is now BUTTERFLIED (I just made up that word myself!).

5) Gardening
Hubby LOVES pruning the oregano and basil
and mixing the herbs into our summer dishes!
Yesterday he made some freezer portions of oregano
using my Cuisinart (b-day present for moi oooh yeah).
Sunny eats the chives RIGHT OUT OF THE POT!
I love hear healthy snacking~hate her breath haha.

6) Pinterest
I know I've said it before, but it's a fad ya know.
I've found some great organizational tips
and homeschooling tips
and decorating tips
and freezer preservation tips
and
and
and...
and I refuse to pester hubby about it
unless I am actually going to DO
one of those tips. Seems fair enough.

7) Projects
I'm finishing a paint touch-up on our staircase.
The white from before was super scuffed from the
"pitter-patter of little feet." It looks fresh with a
lovely coat of Straw Hat on the back-boards.
I also discovered that I can decorate the
staircase with framed pictures, candles, and plants
for an amazing look (at least I think so...)

Romintifying (another new word!) our bedroom.
I LOVE change, but since hubby put his foot down
when asked if we could re-arrange our furniture
(I really can't blame him, my dresser took 5 men to move an inch),
I decided to do what I could to make the small space look more open and
bring the decor up a notch. Looks good so far!
I rehung our canopy and pinned up the low-hanging drapes
and it was an instant room opener.
Next I cleared my long dresser of lotions, perfumes, and make-up
to a shelf (Sunshine kept sneaking my stuff) and just draped
a garland of silk roses across the back... amazing!
It has taken 2 months to rid the boxes of decor from the
girls' room, but I finally put everything away
and we have our floor back!
Next to move our books to bookcases in the basement...

Slightly embarrassing to admit, but I just discovered
the space above the kitchen cabinets.
I am amazed at how much I can actually put up there...
and I mean for decorational purposes ~ though I'm sure
I can manage some practicality... hmm ... we'll see!

8) Dainty
ADORABLE.
I love this age!
She is scooting along furniture and letting go to
stand on her own!
I am also happy to say she FINALLY slept in to 5am
the past two days... I hope it sticks!
Speaking of Dainty, she is up from her nap...
