We all went to Mass on
Ash Wednesday to be blessed with
ashes and start off Lent with a spiritual kick!
We went to 7pm Mass and we were amazed
at how well the girls behaved.
I love how Sunny
stops playing during consecration and hurries to
kneel next to us to watch the priest hold up the host.
It is even more touching to hear her whisper,
"I love you Jesus."
Little Dainty was as good as any baby can be,
but she was distracting the crowd behind us with
her flirtatious smiles and coos... and when it came time
for her snack she decided to give off loud slurps
from under my nursing apron. *blushing*
Every year for Lent we eat meatless meals
and instead save the money that would have been used for
meat towards Corporal Works of Mercy. We also
like to fill a baby bottle with change for our local
Pregnancy Care Center. We want to teach our
children that Lent isn't just about taking things away
from ourselves, but about giving more back to God;
so if we give up say TV, we put a spiritual past time
in it's place.
What are some things your family does for Lent?
