We are trying to add more prayer time to our daily routine. I have found that the Laudate application is our family favorite. In the morning (if we haven't gone to morning Mass) we use it to listen to the daily Mass readings via podcast. At lunch, we have been listening to the Divine Mercy Chaplet (podcast) or The Stations of the Cross (again podcast). The reason I prefer podcast is that I can nurse the baby and feed Sunny without having to read. We can just listen to the meditations or prayers while I display a picture of the crucifixion on my laptop.
I also use the Laudate application to look up other prayers for any occasion.
My second favorite application is my Audio Rosary. Again, I can start the player and fold laundry while I follow along.
My third favorite application is the Bible. I can look up an entire chapter from one of the Mass readings for reference or read one of my favorite stories (Esther is my favorite - What a gal!). They also have a widget for this app that allows you to display a bible verse every day. Right now the daily verses are lenten themed and give you something to think about.
I highly recommend that you use one of these apps. Think of how happy it will make Jesus when you choose to pray using one of these spiritual apps instead of playing Angry Birds!
