A Lenten thought: week 2

After the first week of Lent was over Peter and I sat down for our Sunday spiritual discussion and talked about how we thought we were doing as far as Lenten sacrifices go.

I admitted that even though I was keeping my meals simple (nursing mamas are exempt from fasting), and giving up sweets,  and adding more prayer time that I felt like I wasn't actually suffering. So I decided to offer up one thing that I truly love this week : Coffee.

It turns out that God is pleased with this,  for that very evening little Sunshine broke my coffee pot while helping with dishes (I am pretty sure that my guardian Angel has something to do with).

Now it is Wednesday and I miss my coffee.  Perfect.  Just for you, Jesus! It isn't like I have a headache or I'm shaking (I drink decaf most days anyway)...  It turns out that I just love the flavor of my DD French vanilla and the warm,  cozy feeling that it gives my tummy -  I tell Peter it's like giving my insides a warm bubble bath Haha!

How do you think you are doing this second week of Lent? Is God pleased with the efforts you are making in honor of His Son who suffered for you?
