5 things 2013

I can honestly say I'm not adventurous,
or at least I don't think of adventurous things
on my own...

This blog for example is the product of my
husband constantly telling me,
"You should write a blog with your recipes to share!"
and me saying,
"What's a blog?"
haha... I was never adventurous enough
to explore email, never mind the Internet...
but here we are!

I was just inspired by another blogger to share
 ten things that I wish to accomplish this year;
however,
since I am not that adventurous,
I will only share 5. *smirking*

Five Things That I Wish To Accomplish
in 2013

1) Finish another Class in College
I know I'm a busy mama with a busy schedule,
but I would LOVE to be a Catholic Therapist someday.
I always laugh after I say it to myself because how
could I be a therapist when I need so much help myself?
My guardian angel always chimes in with,
"Therapists need to have SOME experience before they
can help others, right?"
Even if it means taking one class a year
until my children are grown, I will do it.

2) Make another beautiful portrait/sketch
I have a God-given talent for drawing
and it has been years since I have taken out my
pencils. Sometimes I see or imagine how
lovely an image would look on paper, but
I don't get the time to draw it.

3) To be a "doer"
This is an ongoing goal,
but always a worthy one in God's eyes.
I don't want to be that person who
sees people doing good deeds and inspiring
others and just says,
"That's so nice, if only I could do stuff like that..."
I want to DO IT.
Sainthood isn't made by just thinking good thoughts,
but also by putting those thoughts into practice.

4) Learn the Ropes
My husband is the smartest man I am blessed to know.
He knows all this crazy math, facts about places I never heard of,
he makes software to keep our budget pristine,
he is a biochemical engineer (look it up...just nuts),
and he is my human GPS.

Yes, my hubby is smart, and therefore I rely on him
for just about everything. So this year
I wish to break the mold and learn how to pay bills
and run the budget. God forbid that Peter dies
before I learn the definition of a spreadsheet!

5) Conquer the Bees
I've had this ungodly fear of bees since forever.
This goes beyond just screaming for hubby
to kill a spider or spray for ants in the kitchen.
It's totally serious.
I admit it, I'm afraid to go outside because of it.
I also feel awful that my daughters don't see
much sunlight because of it.
So this year I want to play outside with my
girls without the fear of being stung.
I want to enjoy the beauty of God's creation
without having to look over my shoulder or
jump at every buzzing insect.

There you have it!
What are some things that YOU wish to accomplish this year?
