| "Waiting" by Josie |
I mentioned to Peter last night that
waiting for your second child is so different from the first.
belly inhabitant, sing and bond with baby, and be just READY to go.
This time, I think my "waiting" photograph would show a mama
in action; wearing an apron with pjs underneath, toys all over,
and toddler ripping something to shreds in the background...
That's why I look forward to my weekly check ups so much.
That little heartbeat reminds me that there is something in there
(though the kicking does remind me, but a heartbeat is more endearing!).
I have to keep telling myself that it IS baby I------- or baby
C---------- in there and I try to imagine what baby will look like.
(though I KNOW it has Peter's feet!)
I believe that Daddy is more ready than Mama this time around.
His first words to me this morning were an excited,
"Today could be the day!"
He is also hinting that I should take some caster oil
or swallow a few extra evening primrose oil capsules
to move things along. He is also nesting,
which is totally okay with me! Every evening he
lays out his clothes by the bed and our car keys with
my purse next to the front door. It's totally cute.
I love this man.
I was so lucky with Sunny's delivery!
My water broke and right off the contractions were
heavy and 3 minutes apart. After a (mere) 8 hours, she
was in my arms. Even with the midwife and
others predicting an early and quick delivery this time,
I'm pessimistically optimistic. I am perfectly content
with baby taking it's time, after all, I do have 2 more
weeks until my due date!
