"Hand-made" Fall Wreath (Ages 2+)

There are no decorations that I love better than the ones
made by little hands! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
to hang up artwork by my daughter, sisters, nieces and nephews.

This craft came to mind when I looked at my plain front
door and realized it needed some cheering.
I was all into this idea because it means another
fun project for both myself and Sunny ~
especially Sunny, since her active little mind (and fingers)
need to be kept busy and away from mischief!

 Supplies:
 Fall-colored construction paper
Scissors
Glue stick
Scotch tape
Fall-colored crayons
(glitter optional)

Method:
I started with sheets of appropriate fall-colored
construction paper (you know, green, brown, orange, red, yellow...)
and let Sunny color all over the paper with fall-colored crayons.
While she was scribbling away to her heart's content,
I traced her chubby little hands onto the paper
(she only let me trace her a few times, so I used one of the
cut-outs as a template). I also traced my own hands for some
size variety.
It took a little while to cut out the hand prints, but
I set Sunny to the task of throwing away the paper scraps
to keep her busy.

Depending on the age of your child
and your tolerance of glitter
you may let them embellish the hand-prints
with fall-colored glitter at this point.

To assemble, I first placed the hand/leaves into desired
position and glued like crazy to make sure
all the layers were covered.
I then flipped it over and reinforced the backside
with tape to make sure it wouldn't "fall" apart.

I attached this to the door window using more tape.

So cute, even the neighbors love it!
