Fall: cleaning and disinfecting

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who is super
excited about the start of Fall OFFICIALLY this Saturday!

Inspired by our new neighbor's creative flair in seasonal decor,
I decided to go ahead and open my box of fall baubles, dust them off,
and find a home for each item.

This pleasant activity thus inspired a search for tea lights to
go with my fall sconce, which led to cleaning out a closet,
which then caused a desire to organize the pantry,
and finally a plea to hubby to rearrange the living room furniture.
*Satisfied*

All this organization inspired me to write a long list
of to-dos before baby arrives... including
freezing away apple pie filling and stuffing mix for
Thanksgiving,  freezing away applesauce, pureed pumpkin,
casseroles, bread.... we were blessed last week with
a FREE chest freezer that is just begging to be filled.

Unfortunately,
fall also comes with chilly weather and colds.
Last Saturday we noticed that Sunny had a slight cough
and by Saturday night she had a full-blown cold.
Sunday through Tuesday she spent her days napping
and being miserable, though not without first sharing her
icky sickies with Daddy and causing him to stay in bed
Monday and Tuesday. Those two sick babes certainly kept me busy!
(though I must admit that sick hubby meant that while they
were watching movies on the couch I could catch up on chores and
run errands without having to call a sitter).

Over-all I am very pleased with how this cold rapidly progressed
and diminished. Sunny is back to a slight cough and barely
a runny nose (she even blows her nose by herself!).

Of course, being that they are still recovering,
I was inspired to bake a batch of super yummy, super healthy
oatmeal raisin cookies!
They were so good that hubby couldn't even guess
that there was almond flour and flax meal in the batter.
*Score!*

I will definitely share the cookie recipe with you all later on!
