It was such a proud moment when we
hung up our first American flag in front of
our house this morning!
I remember we always had a flag growing up
and it especially meant a lot
when my dad served overseas for a year.
My family truly knows the meaning of
"tie a yellow ribbon around an old oak tree."
Actually,
while my dad was away,
while my dad was away,
we tied a yellow ribbon on a specially
planted blue-spruce tree for
EACH WEEK
he was away.
It was an honor and a comfort
to be the chosen family member
to take down a ribbon at the end of
each week.
God bless our servicemen who work and
fight to keep our freedom!
Happy Independence Day to our fellow Americans!
