Part 5: Fixtures and Decor

So much better!

We are building a new mirror and shelves.
I am so excited about those pretty rose
drawer pulls on the vanity!

Toilet is finally installed and there
is an access panel for the
shower plumbing.

We are almost at the finish line for this project!
We had a setback when the vanity's matching
cabinets were WAY too big for the  room,
so now we need to figure if we just want a floating shelf,
or buy more cabinets.

This was the second toilet installation.
The first installation attempt caused a lovely flood
of water down 3 stories; ruining the 2nd floor
bathroom ceiling.
It turns out that you are supposed to take the rag out
of the pipe before placing the toilet over and sealing,
and we needed a thicker wax seal around the base.
(we never said we were plumbers, folks)

A HUGE thanks to my Uncle Gary
and cousin Andy for the great plumbing tips
that saved our sanity and house.

Part of doing a bathroom make-over yourself
is knowing when to throw in the towel and call the
experts.
I am proud of my husband for admitting that
he is no plumber and deciding to wait
and call in an expert to properly weld the heating
pipes back together.
(that was very messy too, trust me)

Over-all
we are VERY satisfied with our bathroom!
I am constantly browsing the Internet
for decoration ideas and
accessories.
