I must offer an apology.
Oreo truffles is my most requested
recipe and I have yet to share it with you all.
Since Sunny and I are taking a sick day,
I decided that I would catch up on some blogging,
which means I have a little extra time
while my icky-sicky baby naps
to jot down some recipes!
Oreo Truffles ...
Are so easy to make, it is almost sinful.
These are so yummy you will eat half the tray
before you realize that you don't have enough for the guests
and your stomach can't hold any more goodness.
Ingredients:
1 package of Oreo cookies
2 8oz. packages of cream cheese (softened)
1 24oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
That's it! Amazing, huh?!
Instructions:
I know this may be evil to some of you Oreo lovers, but bear with me:
1. Grind Oreo cookies in your blender
That wasn't so hard, was it? You can even sample the mixture if you like.
My hubby loves to sneak some for his ice cream!
2. Place softened cream cheese in a bowl and
mix in ground Oreo cookies until
you have a smooth composition.
3. (it may help if you wear latex gloves for this part)
Make 1 inch balls using the Oreo-
cream cheese mixture and place on
a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Chill balls for at least one hour.
4. Melt chocolate chips in a saucepan and use
a spoon to lower the chilled cream-cheese Oreo
balls into their bath. Make sure they are
completely coated in the chocolate and
place them back onto the tray.
*I like to leave some without the chocolate bath because
hubbs likes them best that way*
Chill for 2-3 hours before sampling and
moving them to a safer container in the back
of your refrigerator. This way, hopefully
you will forget about them until you are to serve them.
These are great served as-is, or you can add a colored candy, sprinkles, or melted white chocolate
for a fancy touch.
**This recipe is doubled from the original to take into consideration all the sampling and gluttonous
behavior that overcomes the diva while she bakes these treats**

A special thanks to Rosa, who introduced me to these addicting chocolates!
