Dear Diary,
We came home from Church and the children's costume party (Sunny won the costume contest!) to find that we are out of power from the early snow storm. I am now trying to locate my box of candles. I know I left it in the spare closet, but I am now regretting having not cleaned the said closet this past week. Peter lent me his bike flashlight to use, but Sunny is waving it around like a strobe light while I try to coax her to "shine the light near Mama" as she giggles and sticks it in her mouth... Peter himself is sporting his head lamp like a true Cyclops and checking the basement to make sure the back-up sump pump is working. The house is pretty warm at this point, and we are sure that we can go without having the heat turned on overnight. I am sure the power will be back on by morning, it usually is!
We just tucked Sunny in for the evening and bundled her in some cozy jammies. If it gets too chilly during the night we will take her too our bed and keep her warm. Goodnight!

What a bummer for you guys! I always worry about the little ones getting too cold when the power's out.
