Hello All!
With our little Sunshine getting older, my husband and I decided it was time to combine our resources and data banks of holidays and holy days to decided what our values are and what we want our children to get out of these celebrations.
One of our resources was the book:
The Catholic Home: Celebrations and Traditions for Holidays, Feast Days, and Every Day
By Meredith Gould.
I found this book both factual and charming. In her book, Miss Gould doesn't just give formulas for celebrating Catholic events, but also a history lesson with the origination of each holiday and her own memoirs. I often found myself laughing along with her relatable and witty accounts of her holiday tales.
OH!
This book also gives great ideas for
*CRAFTS! *
I now have several holiday projects in progress
which started as suggestions found in the book. Some of our favorites are:
Advent wreath, Christmas tree, Manger scene,
Saint Nicholas day,
Saint Nicholas day,
a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas day,
and Christmas lanterns!

I must say that I truly enjoy being a Catholic.
