Let The Games Begin!

Hello All!

It has happened! That's right...the football season has officially begun. My husband is elated; we got the TV set hooked up, his O.J. Simpson autographed football is pumped and freshly laced, and I am as prepared as can be with books from my reading list, ice cream, and nail polish... or at least I thought I was thoroughly prepared until I read a recent post from Crazy Creative Magazine. I can't imagine how I could have survived without the wonderful helpful information that is shared on the translation of The Game (football) and your man! Last year I decided that my motto was to be, "If you can't beat them join them." So, it is better to join in the sport festivities with my husband than to become resentful of The Beloved (football) and how it has stolen him away. I must say, I think it really is a way into my man's heart... I mean, it IS a part of him, so I might as well embrace it and make it as enjoyable as possible.
I admit, I am getting much better with game translation as the years pass. I can now recognize a False Start (Conga line anyone?), a touchdown (which is NOT a home run), which direction each team is pressing for, and even the name of the team that the tight pants look best on.  I have high hopes of learning much more this year and impressing my Sweetheart... especially now that I have this handy Plays Translations! Check it out!

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for the link-up. I love your motto, because it is a hard adjustment for a girl whose father was not a serious fan! I'm as defensive of his team as he is now, and I have to admit, now that I know what's going on, I really enjoy watching all his team's games. I love your prep list, too. I'm so that way for football season, too. I have multiple books, posts I've thought about writing, scrapbooking, puzzles, and household projects I store up for this time of year.

Enjoy your football (ie baking) season. Good to hear from a kindred spirit.

Nice picture, hubby!

I couldn't agree more about working on projects during the games! I have so many craft ideas for Christmas and I finally bought supplies... and now I have the time to do it! :D
