After having read way to many books that feature characters indulging in English Teas, I was having awful cravings for crumpets, scones, and cucumber sandwiches. I am not a tea drinker excepting for when I am ill...which has been more oft than naught the past few weeks (silly cold!). Hawaiian Delight Cake

My Sweetie Pumpkin's birthday is a week away but we celebrated yesterday. She requested a childhood favorite of the cake, Hawaiian Delight. I looked up the recipe and it didn't seem too complicated so I agreed. It came out wonderful. The birthday girl and all of the guests really enjoyed it. Here is the recipe: Cook a yellow boxed cake in a 13x9 pan as directed on box. Top with a cream cheese icing made by mixing a 7oz tub of cool whip with an 8oz cream cheese (mix on HIGH for ~5 minutes). On top of this, coat with 1 box of instant vanilla pudding (not the powder, make it into pudding first). Then, top with one can of crushed pineapple which has been drained and squeezed of all liquid. Finally, top it off with flaky cocunut and halved maraschino cherries. Enjoy!

My poor hubby has been suffering with heartburn for as long as I've known him. I figured that's just how his body is and didn't think too much of it until recently. Honey Challah Bread (using breadmaker)

This recipe is one of our favorites and is pretty easy using a bread maker. Once a loaf is made, it only takes a day or two before it is completely consumed. Ingredients: 1-1/2 cups of warm water 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast 5 large egg yolks 1-1/8 teaspoons of salt 1/3 cup of vegetable oil 4-1/2 cups of bread flour (regular flour doesn't work as well but will do if you don't have bread flour) 1/4 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of honey 1 large egg, lightly beaten 1. Mix yeast into warm water and set aside 2. Place egg yolks, salt, oil, flour, brown sugar, and honey into bread machine 3. Add water and yeast mixture to machine 4. Run dough cycle (ours takes 1-1/2 hours) 5. Preheat oven to 350F 6. Once dough is ready in machine, separate into 3 portions on a floured surface 7. Roll 3 portions into dough ropes and braid 8.
