Date Night

Hey All!

I don't think words can describe how excited I am to go to the movies tonight! My excitement isn't just because the movie is Harry Potter or that I get to escape my energy-filled toddler... it is mostly because it is a rare occasion when my husband and I get to go out on a date together!  Of course, before we were married we went on dates all the time, after we were married we committed to one date-night a week, but once the baby was born (and old enough to be left with a sitter!) we were lucky to get 2 date-nights a month. We place a high value on our friendship and marriage and decided that, even if we need to stay home, we will still spend a date-night together every week (even if it means watching a VHS classic Disney or playing a couple rounds of UNO or Yahtzee --- our favorites!).

I love dating my husband all over again every week. It keeps our love burning, feuds down to a bare minimum, and I always marvel at the new things I learn about him (we like to play questionnaires)... I am still awed that I never knew until recently that he learned Fencing! My hubby is so cool! :)

My inspirational challenge to those of you who are married to is arrange a date-night very soon! Maybe even a surprise one before this week is out! There is such a blessing in finding friendship in your spouse and keeping it alive... so get out there and woo your Darling!

Yeah that sounds like fun! I'd LOVE to do that but the only night we have is Sunday night, cause my hubby works the other 6, and by the time the girls go to bed all we wanna do is do to sleep! =)
My thinking cap is on though....

Date nights are awsome. We are lucky to get a couple of date nights out a year. We do, however, put the kids to bed early every Saturday night. Then, we have extra quality time together (free of whining, crying, and arguing).

Enjoy your date night! That is a very special treat!

Aaron and I choose not to leave our kids with sitters(personal choice) so every weekend, usually Saturday nights we put the kiddos to bed, get some fruit and cheese and watch a movie. We take turns picking and it gives us a chance to snuggle, talk, laugh and just be together. In this economy going out can be so expensive, especially with 2 kids, so we stay in. On the rare occasion that my mom is in town we might leave the kids with her for a few hours.
