In-house Date Night: Beach Theme

I am writing this in behalf of Peter,
who inspired this post with his
awesome date-night creativity.

This is a fun date-night theme for
a lack of babysitter, low budget, pregnant
couch-laden mama, and
just enjoying each others company!

This menu is based on the one Peter cleverly
printed out.
He sent this to me during the day to
surprise me and prepare me for
an impromptu date!

Lay out a tablecloth or beach towels on the floor.
Set your places for dining (a picnic basket is desirable).
Use coconut/ beach scented candles (dim house lights),
flowers in a vase for ambiance,
and Hawaiian playlist (Pandora is great).
Use beach chairs for sitting
(we created beach chairs by laying beach towels over pillows).
Use sun-screen lotion as perfume!

You can play a board game, cards,
ask each other questions from a questionnaire,
or just plain chat.

(those fancy phones can download questionnaires no problem!)

We put Sunny to bed early after an early dinner
and then cooked our meal together.
It was such a relaxing date-night for the both of us!

I love the idea of an at-home date night. It's so much more personal and much easier to pull off when you have several kids! Just being together can always be a special time!
